The issue of financial literacy of the Russian population has become increasingly relevant. This article explains regional variations in the level of financial literacy, taking into account spatial and economic relations. The influence of socio-economic and demographic factors on this indicator is characterized. The influence of statistically significant factors on the level of financial literacy in the region is assessed by compiling a linear regression model based on spatial sampling (pooled regression) and a spatially autoregressive model (SAR). It is concluded that there is no influence of the level of financial literacy in neighboring regions on similar indicators in a particular region. Statistically significant indicators are also identified, including the propensity to borrow, the marriage rate, the incidence rate, and their impact on the level of financial literacy in the region is assessed.
