Spatio-temporal variability of humidity in the profiles of the Chirsky sand massif

The results of the study of the dynamics of ground water of the Chirsky sand massif – a bulky eolian and alluvial structure at the terraces of the left bank of the Chir are demonstrated. The acquired data allows to evaluate the influence of the climatic aridization and eolian mosaic on the stability of the forest complexes and to substantiate the activities aimed at the fixation of shifting sands and the management of water regime. The results have a practical significance for the forest and soil-protective planning in the dry regions of the Middle Don.
