Spatial development of the region: challenges and models of security

The article reveals the main problems of spatial development of the Republic of Buryatia. The author studies the concept of development of economic space based on the target formation of economic potential to ensure the centers of growth in the regional social and economic systems on the basis of the initiation of projects within the development strategy. To develop and ensure the required quality of economic potential isopots as design tools are used. They unite both the developed space and the projects of new development of the economic space distinguished by the necessity for the transfer of resources, the formation and transfer of elements of economic potential. The article deals with the development of the economic space of the Republic based on the complex use of the axial model of spatial development of the Republic (commodity and transport approach), the model of formation of the network of spatial development (distinction of growth centers approach) and the cluster model of spatial development (mesoeconomic cooperation approach). The principles, tasks and basic mechanisms of spatial development of the Republic of Buryatia are defined.
