The provided summary delves into the proceedings of 5th International Conference of Young Scholars, titled “Space and Time in Russian Literature and Philosophy”, which took place on November 15-16, 2022, at the Scientific Library and Memorial Museum ‘A.F. Losev’s House”. The conference was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Besides these institutions, the conference was also hosted by A.F. Losev Center for Russian Language and Culture of the Institute of Philology at MPGU and the journal “Solovyov Studies”. Young researchers and experts from various cities in Russia and China participated in the conference. During the conference, discussions revolved around the concepts of space and time, which were considered fundamental ontological categories not only in the context of artistic works but also with regards to understanding one’s own role and place in the world. Speakers paid attention to the evolution of ideas regarding the close connection between space and time in philosophy and culture, the symbolic significance of the chronotope as a reflection of the author’s artistic philosophy, the specifics of the spatial-temporal organization of Russian literary works, as well as the philosophical and aesthetic aspects of temporal and spatial images and motifs in artistic texts. The conference facilitated the identification of new connections between Russian and world literature and philosophy, confirming the synthetic nature of Russian culture and the urgent need for further study in this aspect.
