Port-Petrovsk Assemblies Music Festival created in 2008 and held annually in Makhachkala unites domestic and international musicians such as vocalists, instrumentalists, and conductors. The relevance of this festival for a social and cultural context of the Republic of Dagestan is caused by the need for the dynamic integration of the population into the urban and industrial culture transmitting the all-European values and universal cultural priorities. When there is a high urban population growth because of the internal migration, the industrial culture development is essential to the preservation of city cultural space in the appropriate state. The projects carried out with the assistance of philharmonic society and aimed at promoting the canonic art allow one to maintain a balance between traditional and classical music in the art and cultural context of the city. In the modern cultural life of the Republic of Dagestan, Port-Petrovsk Assemblies Music Festival is the sociocultural project performing the strategic function (educational) in regional cultural policy.
