Countering illegal drug trafficking and organized crime in the Republic of Finland: problems and achievements

Introduction: authors consider the dominating narcocrime trends in Finland, such us increase of cases of the illegal drugs use and the number of related crimes. Materials and methods: the criminal and criminal procedure legislation of Finland and national legislation in the sphere of counteraction to drug trafficking have formed the standard basis of this research. The methodological basis of the study was the general dialectical method of scientific cognition, which is universal in nature, as well as methods of logical deduction, induction, cognitive methods and techniques of observation, comparison, analysis, synthesis and description. The official website of the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction was the source of statistical and reference information. Results: allowed to specify the main achievements of national counter-narcotics strategy of Finland taking into account its transit status. Summary and conclusions: the original methods of combating drug trafficking and well-established monitoring of drug use prevalence can be perceived in the development of measures of drug addiction prevention in our country.
