Countering the shadow economy in order to ensure the economic security of the Russian Federation

The article is devoted to the urgent problem of countering the shadow economy in order to ensure the economic security of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the article is to study the main manifestations of the shadow economy in Russia and develop recommendations for minimizing it. The article uses methods of statistical data analysis, comparative analysis, expert assessments and a systematic approach. The key sectors of the economy most exposed to shadow activity have been identified. The reasons and factors contributing to the development of the shadow economy in Russia are analyzed. Specific counteraction measures are proposed aimed at improving tax legislation and tax administration, increasing transparency and efficiency of public administration, reducing administrative barriers to business, digitalizing the economy and improving financial literacy of the population. The scientific novelty of the work lies in an integrated approach to countering the shadow economy, taking into account the specifics of the Russian economy and modern challenges. The results of the study can be used by public authorities in the development and implementation of measures to ensure economic security and counteract the shadow economy.
