Infectious diseases of horses cause significant economic damage to horse breeding - rhinopneumonia (viral abortion of horses) and salmonella abortion of horses, which are registered in almost all regions of the Russian Federation, including the Krasnoyarsk Region. The purpose of research is to analyze the measures to combat rhinopneumonia of horses (ERP) in JSC "Tyulkovskoye". We used materials of veterinary reporting of the Service for Veterinary Surveillance of the Krasnoyarsk Region and JSC "Tyulkovskoye". The research analyzed the results of bacteriological studies of the RSTI "Balakhta Department of Veterinary Medicine" and virological studies of the RSTI "Regional Veterinary Laboratory" of Krasnoyarsk. The disease registered at the farm proceeded in the form of mass abortions of mares in the last months of pregnancy. A total of 40 mares were aborted. The preliminary diagnosis of Salmonella abortion in horses was ruled out by the district veterinary laboratory. The Virological Department of the Regional Veterinary Laboratory, when examining paired blood serum samples of aborted mares for ERP in ELISA, established seroconversion to ERP virus, which indicates the disease of animals with rhinopneumonia of horses (viral abortion of mares). To prevent the spread and eliminate the disease of horses, JSC “Tyulkovskoye” was declared an unfavorable point for rhinopneumonia of horses, quarantine (restrictive measures) was established on its territory. In accordance with the drawn up plan, organizational, zootechnical, veterinary-sanitary and final activities were carried out on the farm. During the period of restrictive measures, the horses were vaccinated with a dry culture virus vaccine from the CB / 69 strain against equine rhinopneumonia according to the instructions. In the absence of abortions in mares for two months and the completion of the foal, the commission considered it possible to declare the territory of “Tyulkovskoye” OJSC free of horse rhinopneumonia and lift quarantine restrictions. At the same time, the total economic damage from horse rhinopneumonia on the farm amounted to 333,757 rubles.
