The article discusses the protest movement in the Kuban-black sea and Adygei (Circassian) Autonomous region at the initial stage of the new economic policy (1921-1923) as a manifestation of disagreement of the population of the region, the internal policy of the Bolsheviks after the Civil war. The Russian peasantry in the eternal struggle for freedom and the right to own land has always been in conflict with the government, regardless of the socio-political system. Experience suggests that transitional periods in the history of the country has been accompanied by significant social protests in the city and in the village. The end of the Civil war did not mean the end of military confrontation between supporters and opponents of the Soviet regime. The successes of Soviet power in the economic, social policy was directly connected with the results of the fight against the "white-green" groups. The insurgency in the Kuban and black sea coast in the early 1920s was a continuation of the Civil war was caused by the policies of the Soviet government in the agrarian question. Organized armed uprisings of the Cossacks became a collision of interests of different social groups and partisan disagreements between the Bolsheviks and the social revolutionaries, former officers of the White army and supporters of "separatist Kuban".
