Provinciality in the art picture of the world of Russian symbolism

The article presents the analysis of the problem of provinciality considered by symbolists in the context of creative activity of F. М. Dostoevsky, A. Р. Chekhov, M. Gorky and paradoxicality of life and creative activity of F. Sologub and K. D. Balmont interpreted by contemporaries as organic combination of cosmopolitism of decadence and provinciality of attitude, that expressed in the art picture of the world created by symbolists.
