Provincial museum as phenomenon of Russian cultural life in the 2nd half of the XIX - the beginning of the XX centuries

The article is devoted to the analysis of main trends in the development of provincial museums in Russia in the end of the XIX - the beginning, of the XX centuries. Special attention is paid to educational activities of enthusiasts of the museum and expositional business in the province.
