Mental health and quality of life of patients at various stages of arterial hypertension

In 110 patients of cardiologic institution, level of mental health has been studied. Psychovegetative disadaptive states predominated in patients with hypertension of stage I, with stage II - neurotic disorders of anxiety spectrum and adjustment disorders, with stage III - neurotic disorders acquired panic nature and were often diagnosed as organic anxiety disorders. In patients with arterial hypertension of stages II and III, we have observed a high level of anxiety and depression, decreased subjective assessment of the quality of life, especially in the categories of physical performance and emotional state. We have elaborated comprehensive rehabilitation programs, taking into account the monitored parameters, including psychoeducative, psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological strategies.
