The article examines the issues of law psychology formation through the works of one of the most influential and well-known social philosophers, psychologists, cultural scientists of the second half of the XIXth -early XXth century. Psychological science is a traditional discipline of Wundt, who has been referred to in the history of psychological thought as the creator of psychology as a science. W. Wundt's works on general issues of philosophy, psychology and ethics were generally known in Russian science, but his works on the socio-psychological interpretation of law are bibliographic rarities and have not been studied before in domestic legal science. The article gives a general description of the scholar's work, establishes a correlation between his ideas and the works of some famous legal scholars of the relevant era by explaining the basic content of his socio-psychological theory of law, which forms an organic part of his multi-volume work on the psychology of peoples.
