The study discusses modern ideas about the place of the psychological component in an investigative situation. It demonstrates the main areas of psychological interaction of parties when investigating violations of fire safety requirements. The research presents factors contributing to the psychological content of the investigative situation in cases under review. These factors include the establishment and maintenance of psychological contact between the investigator and the party to the investigation; the initiative of the investigator in achieving psychological contact during investigations; psychological feedback from the party to the investigation to the investigator; active, passive, or comprehensive opposition to the investigator. Psychological factors provide the investigator with a wide scope of opportunities for making tactical decisions when preparing, conducting, and recording investigation procedures and ultimately contribute to the investigation within the procedural time limits.
