Psychological portrait of the personality of victimized adolescents

Nowadays teenagers are often subjected to various types of victimization . The study of the personality characteristics of a victimized teenager and the compilation of his psychological portrait will allow organizing differentiated preventive work with such young people . The article considers the basic concepts of the conducted research -“victimization”, “psychological portrait”, gives an overview of research on the personality of a victimized teenager . The authors presented the results of their empirical study, in which the differences of personality orientation, self-esteem, character traits of adolescents prone to victimizing behavior and those not prone to it are established . It was revealed that they are characterized by the value of independence and autonomy, disregard for their own safety, insufficient differentiation and consistency of self-esteem, optimism, social courage, craving for risk and thrill . On this basis, a psychological portrait of the personality of adolescents prone to victimization behavior was compiled and the forms and content of their psychological support were proposed .
