The article is prepared for the anniversary of Vyacheslav Vladimirovich Nikolyuk, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. The article is based on the biographical and scientific and professional data of V. V. Nikolyuk, as well as an overview of the report presented by V. V. Nikolyuk at the plenary session of the International Conference "Ensuring the rights of participants in criminal proceedings with disabilities: a compensatory approach" on June 18, 2021. The high professional level and contribution of V. V. Nikolyuk to the Russian criminal procedure science were noted.
