Psychological and pedagogical features of the development of children with mental retardation

: the article presents a theoretical analysis of research on the problem of psychological and pedagogical development of children with mental retardation and concludes that children with this disorder do not reach the necessary level of psychological readiness due to immaturity of mental operations and a decrease in such characteristics of activity as purposefulness, control and self-regulation.
