Resume: The relevance of the topic of this research is due to the close attention that is given to the support of children with intellectual disabilities. According to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, 60% of children entering the first grade of primary school are at risk of maladjustment at school. Among them, children with mental retardation occupy a special place. In this regard, a differentiated approach is required with clear criteria for testing such children and providing them with psychological support at all stages of education.
