Publications of Mining Engineer and Gold Miner N.P. Anosov on the Pages of the “Mining Journal’ (1861–1866)

The article presents the publications of the pre-revolutionary mining engineer Nikolai Pavlovich Ano-sov in the “Mining Journal”. On the pages of the magazine, he presented his reports and reports written during expe-ditions to search for gold placers in the Amur Territory. They reflected the routes followed by the search parties under his leadership, as well as personal impressions and professional observations from the results of their activities. Par-ticular attention is paid to the difficulties that search parties had to overcome, the reasons for temporary failures, as well as the emotional mood of the author of the publications. The emphasis is also on the ethnographic characteristics of the author in relation to the Chinese. The conclusion concludes that the analyzed publications are a valuable source on the history of gold mining in Russia in the mid-19th century.
