The travelling of Stephan-the Wonder Worker: on the problem of toponymic motives in legends about Komi christianization

Бесплатный доступ

The motif of Stephan of Perm sailing on a stone in the legends devoted to Komi Christianization is a preamble for the development of the plot about the origin of a geographical name, village name and village prophecy. During his sailing in front of Stephan and due to him unfolds the space system of the world being explored by him. Toponymic motives, prophecy motives, nominations, as well as known from the legends the places for magician competitions or places of Chudy's death determine a new, principally different, space structural organization, in contrast to the former - the Chudy and pagan one.
