The article reviews the history of the working groups (organizations) in the Middle and Lower Volga region from the occurrence of first of them in Samara and Saratov in 1905 to the demise of the last of them in 1909 in Saratov. The author argues that the working groups represented an important element in the system of local organizations of the Socialist-Revolutionary Party, both because of their role, and their abundance. The article reveals the tactics of working groups and their position in relation to individual terror, showing that many of members of the working groups in Samara were adherents of terror.
