A thorough study of labor protests in the provinces during the initial period of the history of the Soviet state helps to restore the objective picture of what was happening in post-revolutionary Russia. The analysis of the protests of the working class in the local aspect makes it possible to determine the real status of the workers under the Soviet regime, and it is unbiased to describe the attitude of workers to their legal and social status. A large stratum of previously classified unpublished archival documents from the funds was put into scientific circulation. The working protest in Simbirsk had mainly an economic nature, however, according to the information of the Simbirsk Provincial Cheka, the opposition parties such as Socialist Revolutionaries and Anarchists were often the instigators and organizers of the unrest.
