On the work of Pechora brigade of polar commission of the USSR Academy of Sciences: importance, results and problems of historiography

On the base of published and archival materials the work of the Pechora brigade of Polar commission of the USSR Academy of Sciences under the leadership of A.P. Karpinskiy in Komi Autonomous Region in 1933 is described, the importance of results of this work for further exploration and development of the Pechora region is underlined. For the first time the difference in approaches to the solution of transport question of Pechora region among the members of this brigade is examined. The problems of historiography of the Pechora brigade activiti are discussed.
