The pathogenesis of chronic heart failure (CHF) is a complex multifactorial process, which is a close combination of manifestations of the impact on the cardiovascular system of the etiological factor (factors) and the mobilization of a whole complex of compensatory mechanisms. The results of experimental and clinical research studies of various forms of heart failure that have been intensively carried out over the past decades using modern diagnostic techniques have led to significant changes in the minds of doctors regarding ideas about its pathophysiology. At the same time, the evolution of views on the pathogenesis of CHF resembles a spiral movement - at each new round of the development of knowledge, a return to old truths and a critical processing of the current paradigm take place.
