Rational tolerance as a principle of the discourse ethics

The article focuses on definition of tolerance as a principle of discourse ethics. The author distinguishes imaginary and rational tolerance, the latter based upon the dialogue and mutual willingness to reach an agreement. It is shown, that the tolerance, as a multifaceted phenomenon, has an antinomical nature. To achieve tolerant attitudes means to overcome the contradictions between reflection and discourse, cognitive and behavioral spheres, ethical norms and context.
