The city of Chelyabinsk is located on the low-water territory of the Urals. That is why the issue of the rational use of water resources of the city-forming industrial enterprises, among which is one of the largest pipe rolling plants in Russia, the Chelyabinsk pipe rolling plant, is extremely topical. In this article, the existing methods of purification and use of acidic and industrial storm wastewater, which are currently technically and morally obsolete, have been considered. They do not correspond to the current trend in the environmental protection and integrated use of water resources. The enterprise is already launching acid runoff treatment facilities, which will help to neutralize and treat wastewater to be recycled back to the circulating cycles of the company. The transfer of the enterprise to a closed circulation cycle will help to reduce the amount of water taken from the Miass River for the technological needs of the enterprise. One of the sources of water for the production and technological needs is surface wastewater, which is currently discharged into Shelyugino Lake. In this regard, the sampling and laboratory analysis have been carried out, on the results of which, recommendations to reconstruct and modernize the existing surface runoff treatment facilities have been given.
