Radiation protection of the population of Belarus after the Chernobyl catastrophe

The article describes the development of concepts and standards of radiation protection of the population after the Chernobyl accident in Belarus. Zoning scheme shows radioactively contaminated Belarus territory, temporal changes of the number of settlements located in the contaminated areas, and their residents. The methodology for standardization of radionuclide content in food products is described in the article. Results of the study demonstrate changes in effective radiation doses for the post-accident period.
