Radical victimology: background and development prospects

The article deals with radical victimology, which began to form in the 70s of the 20th century under the influence of such a noticeable intellectual trend as a critical social theory. The stages of formation and development of radical victimymology, its representatives are analyzed. The author notes that radical victimology has resolutely transferred the center of its research interests to the space of social determinants of victimization, the reasons for the transformation of the quantitative and qualitative parameters of victimization, characteristic in modern conditions for different social groups. In many respects thanks to radical victimology, in the last two decades the tendency of the expansion of victimological research into the sphere of social relations has been increasing.
