Radioactive contamination of environment of Western Siberia

Until recently, dust, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, sulfur and nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons were considered as the most important pollutants. Radionuclides were not considered as a source of pollution. At the moment, interest in radioactive contamination has increased, due to the factors of acute toxic effects caused by the impact on the environment of strontium and cesium.
