This article presents an overview of stationary plasma thrusters and electrical thermo catalytic thrusters developed at JSC EDB Fakel and designed for operation within the spacecraft motion control systems. A story telling about the first space achievements of JSC EDB Fakel electric propulsions is outlined. The main parameters of JSC EDB Fakel thrusters currently used in space are given. New perspective developments by JSC EDB Fakel are presented intended for both increasing efficiency and extending capabilities of the propulsion systems within spacecraft (including small Cube Sat spacecraft), and performing large-scale scientific and technical missions in the near future, among which are research and exploration missions to the primary planets and celestial bodies of the Solar system.
