The early response of yeast to low doses of radiations with different let

The experiments were performed with the diploid wild strain Megry 139-B of yeast Saccharomyces. Monolayers of cells were irradiated with α-particles 239Pu (from 0.35 to 6.0 Gy), γ-rays (from 1.0 to 50 Gy) and neutrons (from 3.5 to 12 Gy). It was found that the kinetics of irradiated cells budding and morphology of microcolonies formed by these cells were changed after exposures with low doses of a-particles, neutrons and y-rays. These alterations were revealed at the nearest descendants of irradiated cells (up to 8-10 generation).
