Mathematical models of linear noise sources (construction sites and transport flows) considering noise source length, distance from the source to the receiver, sound absorption of the underneath surface, placement, height of the source, diffraction features around spatial constructions and other parameters are developed. Main landscape features around receiver are also taken into account in the models, particular models are developed for sound propagation at plane surface, flyovers, embankments and cuts. Prediction models for estimation of noise reduction level by noise barriers located at the edge of flyovers, embankments and cuts are formulated. Experimental investigations are carried out in order to validate developed mathematical models. Measured results are in good agreement with predicted data.
