The excavation of multylayer Paleolithic Kharganyn-Gol-5 site in 2014 (Northern Mongolia)

The stratigraphy and archaeological findings of Kharganyn-Gol-5 site in Northern Mongolia are discussed in this paper. The lithologic units of sediments are correlated with researched sites in Ikh-Tulbariin-Gol River Valley (Tolbor-4, -16, -21). It was noticed that layear with interleaving of dark sandy loam and light loess-type sandy loam was found in the all of listed objects, including Kharganyn-Gol-5. Archaeological complexes from that unit in Tolbor-4, -16, -21 cover age from 45 to 37 kya. So far as archaeological material from layer 4 of Kharganyn-Gol-5 occurs into the same interleaving sediments, this complex of findings is assumed to cover the period of Initial Upper Paleolithic.
