Oral cavity diseases prevalence in cats

The aim of research is to study the prevalence of oral cavity diseases in cats in the Ussuriysk Urban District (UGO). Research objectives are to analyze the frequency of occurrence of oral cavity diseases in cats on the territory of the UGO, their age and breed peculiarities of occurrence; among diseases of the oral cavity in cats, to determine the percentage of cases of diseases with lymphoplasmacytic gingivostomatitis. The object of research was the registration logs for the reception of sick animals in the period from 2019 to 2021 in the veterinary clinics of the UGO "Lyubimchik K" and "Kuleshov S.M.". The material under study was generalized for the prevalence and etiology of oral cavity diseases in cats in the UGO. Among the diseases of the oral cavity in cats on the territory of the UGO, stomatitis is most often recorded (48 %). In second place among diseases of the oral cavity is gingivitis (27 %). Oral cavity diseases are most common in cats between the ages of 4 and 7 (42 %). Among cats aged 8 to 10 years, these pathologies are recorded to a lesser extent (31 %), these diseases are less common in animals aged 1 to 3 years (19 %). In young animals under 1 year of age, oral cavity diseases are rare (8 %). Outbred animals are more susceptible to diseases of the oral cavity (52 %), in the Scottish breed, oral cavity diseases occur within 27 %, in British breeds, the probability of the disease is about 21%, in other breeds, oral cavity dis-eases are much less common or are single. The incidence of lymphoplasmacytic gingivostomatitis in cats is 9 % in the veterinary clinic "Lyubimchik K", in the veterinary clinic of professor "Kuleshov SM" – 5 %.
