Prevalence of CHD risk factors among the residents of the Andijan district

The prevalence of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases was studied in a comparative study of populations of indigenous and alien residents of the Andijan region. In total, 596 (268 men and 328 women) residents and 306 (268 men and 328 women) newcomers aged 18 and over were examined in 5 settlements of the Andijan region. The response to the survey was 81.8%. "Behavioral" risk factors were more common among indigenous people. High cholesterol intake was found in both indigenous and migrant populations, while the prevalence of hypertension, obesity, and hyperlipidemia was significantly lower among residents.
