Functional enhancement of mode astigmatic converters оn the basis of application of diffractive optical elements

Various types of astigmatic mode converters are considered and numerical algorithms of modeling of their action are realized at receipt on an input of arbitrary complex distributions. Functional enhancement of standard astigmatic mode converters is offered on the basis of addition of optical schemes by DOEs, allowing effectively to transform a fundamental mode of laser radiation to arbitrary defined distribution. Combination DOEs with astigmatic converters is most justified for easily made types of binary elements. Expanded three-lens and one-lens astigmatic converters are experimentally realized. Experimental results of simultaneous converting of a set of Hermite-Gaussian modes into usual and elliptic Laguerre-Gaussian modes are presented, and also for the first time transformation of a set of optical pure vortices is executed.
