The story written by P.P. Muratov "War of the birds" (1923) is published in this article for the first time. Historical and literary significance of the story is revealed through its correlation with the author's essays ("Foresight", 1922; "Anti-art"1924, "Art and People", 1924). The revealed parallels allow to consider "War of the birds" in the aspect of the author's cultural and philosophical concepts, related to the fate of the post-European mankind. Conceptual relations between the published story and the story "Catching the Sirens" (1922) and the novel "Egeria" (1922) are established and examined by the author of the article. It is deduced that "War of the birds" is an unfairly forgotten work and a harmonious constituent of P.P. Muratov' s creativity of the early 1920s.
