Solutable Fas-antigen in patients with colon cancer

Findings on a comparative immunoenzymatic study of solutable Fas-antigen (sFas) level in blood serum of 33 patients with colon cancer and in 60 healthy subj ects (the control group) were presented. The sFas level in blood of colon cancer patients was found to be higher than that of the control group. No correlation between the sFas level and such parameters as sex and age of patients, tumor size, tumor invasion and differentiation were found. The sFas level in blood serum of the patients was tended to be increased with higher extent of cancer involvement. The median concentration of sFas was significantly higher in patients with disseminated colon cancer than in the control group.
