Dilution of the incubation medium by the oxygen-free additive as the probable cause of the effect of fast consumption of the oxygen

The phenomenon of the effect of fast consumption of the oxygen, consisting in fast decrease in indications of polarograph under the addition to the incubation medium of mitochondrial preparations, even in the absence of oxidation substrates, has been modeled. It has been shown, that the most probable cause of such an effect is a dilution of the incubation medium by the preparation with the oxygen content significantly lower, than in the medium.
