Thinking about criteria of differentiation of democracies and autocracies in the light of dividing the world into East and West

The article examines characteristics of democratic and undemocratic political regimes. It is argued that the regimes of the East and the West differ very much from each other, so the author concludes that the nature of the political regime of the Eastern states is significantly affected by the specificity of traditional political culture.
