Development of the information system for monitoring and evaluating students' knowledge in mathematical disciplines at the University of Dubna

The article provides an overview of the existing model of the educational process at the University of Dubna. The applied e-learning technologies (for example, the LMS Moodle system) are considered. The system of control and assessment of knowledge in mathematical disciplines is analyzed. The shortcomings of the system are identified, the requirements for the automation of this process are formulated (automation of the system for monitoring and evaluating knowledge in mathematical disciplines is necessary). The analysis of various automation methods was carried out, on the basis of which a decision was made to develop and implement its own e-learning system. Functional and non-functional requirements for the system are formulated; a conceptual model, various interaction scenarios and system design are developed. The software was implemented. Its work was tested at seminars on the MLITA course. Based on the feedback of students and teachers, some shortcomings in the functional/interface components were identified and eliminated. This software can serve as a basis not only for monitoring and evaluation in mathematical disciplines, but also in other disciplines by adding new functions. As a result of testing, it was found that the developed system reduces the time for checking papers and filling out the student rating.
