The paper presents the relevance of studying such a quality indicator as the non-sinusoidality of the supply voltage. The issue of the influence of non-sinusoidal voltage on the heating of an asynchronous electric motor (IM) is considered. A test bench designed to study the effect of non-sinusoidality on the heating of the IM is presented. The operating principle of the test bench and the methodology for conducting experiments to determine the contribution of harmonics in the voltage spectrum to the overall heating of the IM are shown. The results of the experiments are presented, showing the degree of heating caused by voltage harmonics in the heat release of an asynchronous electric motor, as well as a technique for processing experimental data to find the steady-state values of the IM temperature and the heating time constant. Limitations of the research related to the impact of IM on the values of harmonic components of the voltage spectrum are shown.
