Development of competitive strategies for instrument manufacturing products in conditions of import substitution

The article discusses the main conditions and factors influencing the change in the structure of the Russian market for instrument-manufacturing products. A study of the competitive positions of certain types of instrument products from one of the leading manufacturers - «Saransk Instrument Works», JSC - was carried out. The need to adjust the competitive strategies of instrument manufacturing enterprises aimed at developing vacated niches in various product segments has been identified. Based on the results of sales dynamics of JSC «Saransk Instrument Works» products, a matrix of the Boston Consulting Group was compiled and competitive strategies were proposed for each product group. The study of the combined impact of external and internal environmental factors of the enterprise (using the SWOT analysis method) made it possible to recommend a market development strategy for such products as: pressure and temperature control devices, devices for measuring movement parameters, bellows, instruments for monitoring and measuring technological processes. To increase the stability of the company’s market position in the foreseeable future, a product development strategy is proposed, implemented through the promotion of its innovative developments.
