Development of Design of Mechanical Hopper Feeding-Orienting Device with Inclined Disk and Tangential Pockets for Rod Stepped Billets

The article describes the systems for automatic feeding of various process equipment of mass production with piece blanks in the required oriented position on the basis of mechanical disk hopper feeding and orientation devices. Developed design of universal hopper feeding-orienting device with inclined rotating disk and tangentially located gripping members for rod cylindrical and complex shaped stepped blanks is considered. Peculiarities of operation of the device and its adjustment with the help of support rollers for different diameters of rod stepped billets having similar length are presented, which makes it possible to signifi cantly reduce costs during design and to reduce duration of readjustment. Proposed device in process of active orientation of blanks contributes to reduction of number of blanks deformed at stirring in hopper, which can be repeatedly gripped and dropped at their incorrect gripping back into common mass, increase of probability of blanks gripping to increase feed rate of device.
