The developed methodology based on the traceability matrix was created to analyze the current situation of the distribution of competencies and evaluates them according to the criteria of importance and frequency of use in the workplace by employees. In this work, the competence of a process engineer was analyzed as a tool for the development of employees and the entire enterprise. The job responsibilities of a process engineer were considered as the basic skills that are required to perform the job effectively and achieve the best results. The analysis of competencies allows to identify the key competencies that are most involved in the work of employees in the period under review, and their qualimetric assessment will make it possible to give an objective assessment of the implementation of current production tasks, which will help to increase the objectivity of management decisions. As a result of the work, a hierarchy of process engineer competencies was formed based on the assessment of the company's employees on the basis of the traceability matrix.
