Development of the multiagent system for distant learning for internet portal "Optic city"

This article dwells upon the development of the Internet portal in optics on the base of the concept of intelligent agents. Optics, as one of the leading areas in the world of Physics, requires knowledge to be integrated with appropriate knowledge retrieval mechanisms. The multiagent technology makes it possible to assign every user a personal agent which is capable of autonomous task solving, knowledge mining, user preference model generating (on the base of interactions with the user) and even of communicating with other user and system agents. This technology simplifies and enhances access to knowledge and information in the world of optics.
