Development of Restrictions on Parameters of Gripping and Orienting Members of Improved Universal Hopper Feeding-Orienting Device with Inclined Disk and Tangential Pockets for Rod Stepped Billets

The article describes the developed improved design of a mechanical universal hopper feeding-orienting device with an inclined rotating disk and tangentially arranged gripping members for rod cylindrical and complex shaped stepped blanks. The necessary conditions for correct operability of the universal hopper feedingorienting device with possible methods of lowering the workpieces into the tangential pocket are considered. The developed ranges of design parameters of tangential pockets are presented, at which stable serviceability of the improved device will be ensured, subject to which there will be no possibility of several blanks falling into the tangential pocket both by the side surface along the length of the pocket and in a standing position. Obtained mathematical dependences in form of ranges of parameters of gripping and orienting members determine conditions of reliable functioning of improved universal hopper feeding-orienting device.
