Development of approaches to the organization of industrial tourism in the old industrial region

The purpose of the work was to study the prospects for the development of industrial tourism in the old industrial region and develop approaches to its organization on the example of the Tula region. We used the survey method by conducting semi-structured interviews with experts associated with the organization of industrial tourism, SWOT analysis of the development of industrial tourism in the region, the EFAS form for analyzing strategic environmental factors, the scenario method, as well as a survey of potential consumers of industrial tourism services. The research has shown that old industrial regions with rich cultural and historical heritage can use it to create a comprehensive tourist product that is of the greatest interest to the modern consumer. The tourist product must include both existing businesses and other cultural objects, such as museums. For the success of industrial tourism in the region, active assistance from regional authorities and the availability of educational institutions that train personnel for tourism and hospitality are important factors. Promising directions of industrial tourism development have been identified for the Tula region and a model of its organization has been proposed.
