The problem of researching small-sized agricultural machines arose due to the lack of necessary, equipped research laboratories. The proposed soil channel, which is being built on the territory of the Institute of Transport, Service and Tourism of the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Engineering and Economics, is equipped with: the necessary equipment, both measuring and design, a system sprayer (for uniform humidification of the channel), a system for automated movement of the fastener of a mobile test complex. The working bodies for humidification, loosening and automated movement are installed on a mobile, multifunctional trolley, which is moved by a flexible cable, an electric motor, a gearbox and a frequency converter. This laboratory will allow both the development of working bodies and devices, and their research. In particular, it is possible to measure the traction resistance, the profile of the furrow formed with such variable parameters as humidity, soil porosity, etc. In the article it is described the device and the principle of operation of a system sprayer designed for uniform humidification of the channel. A device consisting of a pipe in which a spring and nozzles evenly moisten the soil channel along the entire width, which ensures accuracy and reduces the measurement error during research. In the article it is described the process of studying the degree of soil moisture in various layers of the soil channel. The cities closest to the location of the canal are described, in which there are similar laboratories, the purpose of the study is described, the research methodology describes experiments on soil moistening in various layers of the soil channel and the development of a system sprayer designed to evenly moisten the canal.
