Banks’ activity on securities market in pandemic conditions

The scientific article is devoted to conducting a research features and prospects analysis of the of the commercial banks development in the securities market. The relevance of the chosen issue and scientific research is due to the fact that stock market operations are one of the main revenue-generating areas in the activities of commercial banks in Russia. In addition, credit institutions can play various roles in this financial market segment, using the sources of financial support available to them for the functioning of financial instruments and securities in operational activities. Within the article framework, the theoretical essence was considered and the practical role of commercial banks in the securities market was analyzed. The main trends and prospects of transactions with securities development in banking practice of Russia are considered. The current problems facing banking institutions in working with securities are highlighted. As a conclusion, the authors found that the practical role of banking institutions in shaping the Russian securities market stability is extremely important, since thanks to commercial banks, the strategic development of the domestic stock market, scaling the activities of startups and financial support for corporations are ensured.
